Mehfil-e-Sana-e-Mustafa

The holy month of Rabi-ul-Awal is known as a very sacred month in the Islamic history as it is known for the birth of our Holy Prophet (PBUH). As a continuation of the continuous and unprecedented efforts of Principal PMC, Prof. Riaz Hussain regarding the celebration of National days and events to provide awareness to the students of Punjab Medical College about the understanding of Islam and the teachings of Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the best possible way a Mehfil-e-Sana-e-Mustafa was arranged under the supervision of Prof. Janbaz Ahmed (Chairman Literary Society). The whole literary Society under the Secretary ship of Arifa Javed worked very hard for making the event a huge success.  Following were the main arrangements done. The auditorium was beautifully decorated. The front panel was covered with white cloth that had pink ribbons on it. Flowers were spread along with oil lamps. The back of stage had a printed flex containing the title of the event. Side panels were covered with white cloth that had Roza Mubarak’s sketch on 1 panel and the name Muhammad (PBUH) sketched on the other panel. The event started with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Hafiz Yaseen (2^nd Yr).  Then the compare Miss. Asma Hafeez Invited Anam Naseer (1^st Yr), Bilal Ahmed (1^st Yr)), Khakan Ahmed (2^nd Yr), Komal Ahmed (2^nd Yr), Maleha Ijaz (2^nd Yr), Fakhar Hayyat (3^rd Yr), Horia Asghar (4^th Yr), and Saleha Javed (2^nd Yr) who in their beautiful voices paid tribute to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the form of Naats. Misbah Munshi of Final Year was invited on the stage to recite a beautiful Naat. Lecture was given by Dr. Abd-ul-Sami. Then Mr. Shahid Niazi was invited on the stage and he recited a heart touching Naat which was appreciated by the whole audience. Pin drop silence was observed and the students had a lot to gain from the whole event. The organizers among the Teachers included Prof. Asghar butt, Prof Ahmed Saeed, Dr. Ijaz Hussain Shah, Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed Dogar, Dr. Najaf Imtiaz Gill, Dr. Jamil, Dr. Khalid Mehmood and Dr. Zafar Hussain. Following Faculty members attended the Mehfil: Prof. Yousaf Shah, Prof. Javed Ather, Prof. Hafiz Imtiaz, Prof. Rasool Choudary, Prof. Zahid Iqbal, Prof. Abd-ul-Hafeez Choudary, Prof. M. Sultan, Prof Muhammad Ali Tirmizi, Prof. Farooq Ahmed Mian, Prof. M. Ashraf, Dr. Safdar Hassan, Dr. Qaisar, Dr. Tufail, Dr. Ajmal, Dr. Ghazanfar Ali Sindhu and Dr. Musarat-ul-Husnain. The Students organizers included the following: Ahsan Mehdi (4^th Yr), Ahsan Arif (Final Yr), M. Awais Butt (4^th Yr), Muhammed Saeed Ali Khan (Final Yr),  Syeda Zainab Hassan (4^th Yr), Farukh Aleem (Final Yr) and Faisal Rasheed (4^th Yr). other student organizers include: Hafiz Zaman (3^rd Yr), Muneeb Aftab (3^rd Yr), Rabia Javed (2^nd Yr), Sahar Iqbal (3^rd Yr), Jamila Ali (2^nd Yr) and Zulqarnain Haider (2^nd Yr). At the end Shields were given to the Principal Punjab Medical College, Prof. Riaz Hussain, Dr. Ab-ul-Sami and Mr. Shahid Niazi. Prizes were given to the Naat khans. Refreshment was arranged for all the students. In the end lunch was served and with this the event came to an end.
