  • My early education was from a local school and I had to travel 5 Kilometers for that. From class 6th I was shifted to a hostel. When I was in class 8th I took the highest marks in the Scholarship Exam in the whole District. Then I got admission in Islamia High School Jhang. I passed my FSc from Government College Jhang and was admitted to King Edward Medical College where I was at 25th merit order and at the time of graduation my merit order was 4. • When I was a kid I used to play football and Kabadi.
  • Favorite cuisine is whatever is being cooked by wife.
  • Mehdi Hassan is the favorite singer

Tell us about any memorable Incident of your life?

  • I was close to death at three occasions in my life. 1st when I was a young boy and had severe measles, 2nd when I was about to give my FSc Exam and 3rd when I was a Medical student. At the 3rd time the doctors who operated me are the same doctors who I had the honor of operating on when I became surgeon.

When did u start thinking about becoming a Doctor?

  • I started thinking about adopting Medicine as my profession when I was in class 8th. Mehar Jeevan Khan, my elder brother, is my inspiration and has a lot of  influence in my life throughout.

What is the difference between your time and present time?

  • The knowledge has increased in present time but at our time Clinical Skills were better as there were less number of students. Confidence has also increased in today’s student as compared to old times.
  • A hostel dinner was arranged by our Principal and I had the honor of sitting on the table where Prof. Dr. Zafarullah (Now President CPSP) was sitting. I was in 3rd year at that time and it felt great that I am sitting with my teacher. My aim is also to create an atmosphere where teacher student interaction is more as compared to how it is now.

Tell us something about your College life?

  • I had been conscious about my achievements and always had a sense of competition. I had been a regular student throughout my student life. When I was in KEMC I also used to play indoor games like Table-tennis and Badminton.

What is your way of working?

  • I believe in division of power and work and for this purpose I have made a number of committees. Regular Academic Council meeting are also being conducted and all the issues related to students and teachers are being discussed and worked upon.

Doctors are generally thought to be dry people, what do u say?

  • To me doing surgery is the biggest enjoyment and excitement. I love my work.
  • This is because exposure of doctors to people belonging to other professions is low. Medical students are either over confident or shy. Therefore its in my plans to organize such gatherings in which people belonging to other professions and Medical students could participate and share their view and intermingle so that this problem can be overcome.

What was your reaction when you came to know that you have been appointed as the Principal?

  • In the top 3 Professors of an institute level of maturity is developed. So it was not that tough on me to cope with it.
  • I never expected my Principal orders on 18th February so it was sudden news. My elder brother has always been a guide for me and he advised me to wait for written orders. Then I received a fax. It was time of Zohar prayers at that time. I offered Namaz and Prayed to ALLAH Almighty that, “Give me strength to lead this institution to the heights of glory”.

What is the college doing about the Sawat crisis?

  • About the Sawat crisis, 3 teams of doctors have been sent to the camps. It is a sense of honor and pride for me to say that the 1st scisserian over there was done by our doctors and the child was given the name, Shahbaz Khan. A committee has been made headed by Prof. Dr. Muhammed Saeed who will look into the financial support of the needy over there.

What are your future visions?

  • In my future vision I would like create an atmosphere where day to day activity is done. Positive work is encouraged and there is self respect among the individuals. Not only Profession but Personality Building is also being done. I would like people to come here from abroad as we have got huge amount of clinical material.
  • Peace should prevail on national and international level.
  • Organ Donation Legalization is my goal and I would like to build an Organ Transplant Unit as there is great need of such a facility and specially liver transplant is very much needed.
  • Realism should prevail along with Optimism, neither of these alone.
  • My dream is to create a transparent merit system so that those who deserve don’t need to beg. Once we implement this, everyone will struggle hard and in this manner we will be able to produce geniuses.
  • I had been organizing Undergraduate Research Competitions and would start them again soon.
  • An advisory committee for Career Planning will be made which will help students to plan for their future with best guidance.
  • In future there will be more farm injuries so we should work for its prevention.

What are you doing about the provision of recreational activities  in the girls hostel?

  • Healthy recreational activities for girls should be promoted. I have visited Fatima and Ayesha hall. There is grassy Lawn and activities should be done over there.

What is your message For Doctors:

  • The ratio of patients is huge. Although it’s difficult for doctors after so much strenuous work to put a smile on their faces but this is the foremost need. My aim is to provide care to the health providers. In this regards I have plans to make a cafeteria for doctors. Better environment will be provided to the doctors. International exposure will be made possible for the Doctors to have a better vision, improvement and synchronization of their techniques with the modern world.

Message for Medical students:

  • You must work very hard and put your maximum effort to attain your goal. Always pray to ALLAH Almighty but praying without doing hard work is like dictating ALLAH without doing anything by yourself.
  • Give respect and get respect. Hazrat Ali (RA) said,” Damn that person, who is respected because people are afraid of him”. So don’t be respected in this manner.
  • At last I would like to advise you that you should be better than us in training, skills and knowledge as this is the only indicator of our progress.

May ALLAH Bless you all.
