ANNUAL SPORTS DAY 2010

18th
of March, 2010 the most awaited event of the year in PMC took place,
that is the Annual
Sports Day. It was celebrated in the Cricket Stadium of PMC with the
traditional vigour. In the
beautiful, colourful, pleasant, fragrant and flowery season of spring,
this event added to the charm of the season. The guests arrived at 10:00pm
who
were warmly welcomed by the students. The
guests included our
respected Principal Prof. Dr
Riaz Hussain Dub, Prof. Dr. Shuja Tahir,
Prof. Dr. Mian Farooq, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali Tirmizi, Prof. Dr. Yousaf Shah
Khagga, Prof. Dr.
Tasneem Cheema,
Prof. Dr. Zahid Yaseen Hashmi,
Prof. Dr. Zahid Iqbal, Prof. Dr.
Rasool Ahmad Ch, Prof. Dr. Hafiz Imtiaz,
Prof. Dr. Asghar Butt, Prof. Dr. Raza Balouch,
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Bilal, Prof. Mehdi Raza Rizvi, Dr. Ijaz Hussain Shah,
Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad Dogar, Dr. Sajid
Sheikh, Dr. Rehman Gulzar, Dr. Akmal Hussain
and others. Then the compares Atiqa Mahmood (final yr) and Awais Saeed
Abbasi (final yr) formally began the function by inviting Hamza (final yr)
for recitation of Holy Quran followed by
Naat
by Lubna Rafique (final yr)
.

All the classes from 1st
yr to final year were assigned colours. The Final yr glowed in green with
the theme of
Sports. The 4th yr
looked awesome in Orange with the interesting theme
of Egyptians.
3rd yr was in glittering red and with
a
unique theme
of China Town. 2nd
yr was in the colourful and traditional theme of Basant in yellow. 1st
yr was looking cool in Black with their theme Camp Rock
and BDS were
the Rockers in Blue. All the classes did their entry turn by turn in the
stadium representing their respective themes and colours. They were well
appreciated by everyone. Then a beautiful song was sung by Saman (1st
yr). Then the Chief Guest arrived who was
Commissioner
of Faisalabad Mr. Tahir
Hussain and visited class wise,
all the sections and had a
photographic session
with the students. He appreciated the excellent efforts of the students.

The prize distribution session started and gold, silver and
bronze medals were awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd
position holders in various games. The prizes were distributed to the teams
and students having positions in cricket, football, hockey, volley ball,
badminton, high jump, long jump, basket ball, net ball, athletics, indoor
games (chess, indoor cricket, billiard, carom, and table tennis). The
relevant patrons of the games were invited one by one on stage to give away
the medals to the students securing positions in respective games.

In the meanwhile
in order to entertain the students various games were also held. 1st
was the 100m race of the boys,
Farhan
Nadeem (final yr) got 1st
position. Then came the turn of the female students. There was a spoon race
won by Amna Rasool
and
musical chair
was
won
by a 4th yr student.
A
competition of Tug of War was
also held between the students of
4th yr and final yr and it was won by 4th yr boys.
Then came the turn of teachers. They also enjoyed this event by
participating in various games and entertaining the students. There was a
50m race among the teachers and Dr.
Imtiaz Ahmad Dogar stood 1st. The musical chair was won by Dr.
Hafiz Imtiaz. And there was a tug of war between the teachers of clinical
and non clinical side which was
won by the non clinical teachers.
A musical chair competition was also held between the female teachers and
Dr. Bushra won. The vigour of students was represented by their applause.

The compares included Nafeesa Ehsan, Zeeshan Munawar, Arshi Arif, Taimoor
Salman, Sidra Parveen (Final Yr), Saqlain Raza, Atta-ul-Munam, Alii Alvi,
Sidra Khan, Asma (4th Yr), Adeel Sarwar, Sahar Iqbal (3rd Yr), Faiq & sundas
(1st Yr). all the compares did a great job and entertained the audience with
there skills of conversations. A mimickery of the teachers was performed by
Saqlain Raza (4th Yr), all the students got very much amused by his
performance and appreciated him with great enthusiasm.
The
shields were awarded to the
secretaries;
Talha Hafeez (Boys) & Muezza Samer (Girls)
and Assistant
Secretaries
Iftikhar Nadeem (Boys) & Aimen Javed (Girls)
and then the Sports Day Organizers were awarded with shields. Arshi (final
yr) & Farhan Nadeem
dedicated songs to the final year
and then with the National Anthem
this memorable event ended.
