INTRODUCTION
University
of Health Sciences
is located in Lahore, which is the second largest city of Pakistan
and the capital of the Province of Punjab. Lahore, is the city of 8
million, and also the educational seat of Pakistan. University of
Health Sciences, Lahore regulates and coordinates the activities of
medical education, training & research institutions throughout the
province of Punjab. University of Health Sciences is the only
institution offering specialization in medical, dental, nursing,
bio-medical engineering and paramedical education in the province of
Punjab. The University is the parent body to 16 Medical & Dental
Colleges, four Institutes of post graduate education and post
graduate Nursing Colleges, located in different cities of the
province of Punjab.
The
mission of University of Health Sciences is to develop an
intellectual nexus to provide excellence and innovation in medical
education and research for continued development of clinically
competent and community oriented doctors, dentists, nurses and
paramedics. The University of Health Sciences has high fidelity,
reliability and standards of examinations, is rapidly developing
into a center for post graduate training and research, in the fields
of basic sciences. A unique feature of the University is the
development of the departments of Bio-Medical Engineering and a
Resource Laboratory for active research in Molecular Biology.
University regulates and
co-ordinates all the activities of medical education and health
research throughout the province of Punjab, as reconsolidating and
modernizing Medical education is one of its aims. It is housed in a
picturesque purpose built building and reflects the commitment of
Government of Pakistan for the uplift of Medical & Health Sciences
in bringing them at par with the International standards. The
University is making concerted efforts to bring medical education
and degrees at par with the prestigious institution of the world.
Scientific conferences, research seminars, and workshops on themes
related to medical education are being held regularly at the
University.

mission of University of Health Sciences is to develop an

service personnel capable of providing community oriented
multi-disciplinary patient-centered care.

Produce and train researchers and
specialists in basic and clinical medical sciences.

professional development programs for the faculty.
- To provide trained professionals and
scientists/researchers to the field of Electro
Medical/Bio-Medical.
