Department of Anatomy

Introduction

Anatomy is the science concerned with the study of structure and its relation to function in the human body, Contemporary human anatomy includes sub divisions or sub disciplines like developmental anatomy, neuro anatomy, radiographic anatomy, clinical anatomy, etc. This is the main subject study during first two years of stay in a medical college. It lays down the foundation of all future medical learning. In order to complete the course of anatomy, students participate foundation of all future medical learning. In order to complete the course of anatomy, students participate actively in lectures and practical classes and obtain at least satisfactory grade after each practical session.
The department of anatomy is housed in a magnificent three storied building amidst lush green ' lawns and evergreen tall trees. Its histology lab is equipped with latest facilities like camera and TV attached teaching microscopes. Additionally it possesses all latest tools for preparing and staining of histological slides. The museum of the department is full of well dissected and elaborated specimens, marked skeletons and good quality models of all kinds. It dissection lab is an air-’conditioned Spacious building. It has its own mortuary with a capacity to store at least twelve cadavers concurrently. The dissection lab is unique in a way that it is never short of cadavers.
The department of anatomy has an extremely dedicated team of academic and supporting staff, involved in teaching and research activity. While performing duty here, many of its staff members have improved their qualification and are now working as specialists in a variety of fields within and outside the country.
