Medical Unit II

Introduction / Information

Medical Unit–II is a 62 bedded Teaching Unit providing Tertiary care treatment facility, affiliated with Faisalabad Medical University, Faisalabad. The unit is recognized for undergraduate & Post graduate training in Internal Medicine (FCPS (Medicine), MRCP (Medicine) & MD (Medicine).
The Unit offers various treatment facilities for different medical disorders in Outdoor Clinics and for Indoor admitted patients as well. Medical Unit II also runs diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopic facilities for GI disorders.

Academics information

Our Ward has 26 Post Graduate trainees of FCPS (Medicine), MD (Medicine) and MD (Neurology). Our ward is responsible for the lectures, ward classes, class tests of 3rd Year, 4th Year and Final Year MBBS. Our Ward conducts fortnightly CPC’s of Post Graduate Trainees, twice weekly lists of Upper and Lower GI Endoscopies.

Research activities

At present 6 Research projects relating to different aspects of Medicine are being conducted in our unit. The latest projects of “epidemiological survey of chicken pox in Faisalabad vs Adjoining areas” was published in last edition of Annals of Punjab medical college.

Publications

The Faculty of Medical Unit 2 has 30 publications to our credit.

Conference paper

Two posters “Role of accessory right inferior hepatic vein in evaluation of liver transplant” and “Complication of image guided transaretial” were presented in 2018 conference of Pakistan society of gastroenterology.
