Department of Orthopedics at Faisalabad Medical University is consistently recognized for its mark in education, training and research. This department has pioneered medical and surgical pillars with a team comprised of innovating and dedicated people working towards advancement and excellence in patient care. Under the dynamic supervision of Dr. Rana Dawood Ahmad, it comprises of three units, Allied Hospital, DHQ hospital and Ghulam Muhammad Abad General Hospital with 64, 44 and 15 bedded ward respectively. Currently this Department has 17 Consultants, 17 Post Graduate Trainees in Allied Hospital and 2 Post Graduate Trainees in DHQ Hospital.

This department takes emergencies 7 days a week. All kinds of advanced surgeries like joint replacement, arthroscopy, deformity correction, hand surgery, sports injuries and Trauma are performed here. In 2018 at Allied Hospital alone, 2177 patients were admitted in ward, 22448 patients were seen in outdoor clinics, 8030 patients were treated in emergency and 1989 patients were operated in main operation theater.

This department produces 2-3 FCPS orthopedic surgeons every year and has been providing a suitable place for clinical research and training. With its supporting and committed staff it has been offering the best possible patient care to community utilizing all the available resources.
