Center is one of the four State of the Art Burn Centers for the treatment of Burn cases. It is a 55 bedded specialized burn care center which deals the burn cases through resuscitation, wound care, reconstruction and rehabilitation phases. Present center started functioning on 4th August 2015 when out patients clinics phase started its function. Indoor phase became operational on 9th November 2015 and sooner it became fully functional. Center has a catchment area which consists of surrounding four districts. It catered about 20,000 patients in year 2018. Center is being headed by Executive Director Prof Dr Saeed Ashraf Cheema.

Other than burn injuries, center caters for all range of plastic and reconstructive surgery cases. A wide variety of reconstructive procedures are routinely carried out for congenital, post ablative, post traumatic, post burn and various other soft tissue and bony defects. Whereas, complex hand surgery and maxillofacial surgery procedures are taken regularly by the department, micro vascular surgery and free tissue transfers are yet other achievements of the center.

The department actively promotes research culture as well as other academic activities. Continuous medical education programmes both for the medical and general population have helped the center for creating awareness among the people regarding Prevention, First aid, and Management of the acute burn injuries. New trends & methods are on a continuous watch and regularly introduced for treating cases related to burns and various other segments of plastic surgery.

The department also leads several curricular as well as extracurricular activities including green and clean complex project, sports, motivational seminars and conducting different workshops for medical as well paramedical personnel.
