Surgical Unit-I is the senior most professorial unit comprising of 60 beds with intake of variety of elective and emergency general surgical cases. It is supervised by honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zafar Ali Chaudry (FRCS, FCPS, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz) and under his supervision surgical unit-I team is excelling in fields of Head & Neck, Bariatic and Laparoscopic surgery.

Prof. Dr Muhammad Faisal Bilal Lodhi is ward incharge who is managing ward amicably and effectively with special emphasis on research and academics. Currently there is one Regular Associate Professor Dr Ata Ul Lateef, three Assistant Professors and four Senior Registrars working in ward. Surgical Unit-I is playing a key role in academic learning of both post graduate and under graduate with special emphasis on research and improvement in surgical skills.
