Surgical Unit II is working under impeccable supervision of Prof Dr. Muhammad Sajid Sheikh. Prof Dr. Muhammd Sajid Sheikh and Associate Prof Dr.Muhammad Akram are CPSP accredited supervisors for fellowship in General Surgery as well as MS training program of UHS,Lahore. All the faculty members had done ATLS course and Prof Dr.Muhammad Sajid is regional director of this course.

Surgical Unit II is 60 bed unit with a 12 bed High Dependency Unit with central Oxygen supply for seriously ill patients and for those who undergo major surgical procedures. Surgical team of this Unit is skilled in Advance Laparoscopic Procedures like laparoscopic nephrectomy, adrenalectomy, spleenectomy, hiatal hernia repair, rectopexy and many others. This team is also performing bariatric surgical procedures like sleeve gastrectomy and many emergency laparoscopic procedures like laparoscopic appendectomy, DU perforation repair and gut anastmosis.

Faculty members are fully committed and devoted in training of both under and post graduates.Clinical classes for undergraduates are conducted regularly in ward starting from 3rd Year M.B,B.S where special attention is given on enhancing their skills to become great future doctors. Post Graduate training is major objective where residents are trained according to CPSP guidelines.Weekly clinical pathological classes are conducted. Medical simulation dummies are available for residents to learn basic laparoscopic skills.

Patient care is prime focus for which no stone is left unturned by every member of this unit. The staunch, hardworking and resolute faculty, residents and paramedical staff is the essence of Surgical Unit II.
